BridgeCo Processor with USB Interface Extends BeBoB Audio Interface Platform

BridgeCo Inc announced an expansion of its popular audio interface processor and firmware product line at the NAMM conference this week. To address the need for audio interface systems that employ the widely used USB interface, BridgeCo is demonstrating its new DM1200E processor. Using the same BeBoB firmware and SDK (software development kit) as the company's existing DM1500E and DM1100E processors, the DM1200E now allows the development of cost effective audio interface systems that target amateur and professional users that prefer to use the USB interface instead of FireWire™.

500,000 Have Plugged Into BeBoB Worldwide BridgeCo's BeBoB audio processor and firmware technology is used in audio interfaces, musical instruments and breakout boxes. These products enable musicians to combine signals from multiple instruments, microphones, sample clips and other audio sources, and transfer them to a computer using a single FireWire (IEEE 1394) or USB 2.0 interface. Once audio tracks are recorded and stored on a computer, they can be edited, arranged and played back to create a complete musical or audio experience.
Thirty individual products built by more than a dozen manufacturers — targeted at professional musicians, disc-jockeys, as well as the consumer audio market use BridgeCo's BeBoB platform as the core technology of their audio networking systems. To date, more than 500,000 BeBoB based systems have been purchased by musicians around the world, more systems than any other audio networking solution.
The BeBoB Processor and Firmware Platform BeBoB 5.0 includes a comprehensive SDK that allows the firmware stack to be easily configured to work with any BeBoB processor and interface selection. BeBoB 5.0 comes bundled with BridgeCo's DM1500E, DM1100E or DM1200E processors, which combine networking, control and DSP capabilities in a single device. The DM1500E incorporates a switchable interface, supporting up to 128 simultaneous audio channels using FireWire and up to 24 simultaneous channels using USB. The DM1100E supports FireWire interfaces and up to 12 audio channels simultaneously. The DM1200E supports USB 2.0 interfaces and up to 12 audio channels simultaneously.
The BeBoB platform combines a proprietary dual-core, ARM-based and DSP-enhanced processor with a real-time operating system (RTOS) and comprehensive application software stack that implements a complete audio interface product. BeBoB drivers are available for computers running Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Linux operating systems. The BeBoB Windows driver supports WDM, ASIO & GSIF. Supported audio interfaces include ADAT/SMUX, SPDIF, I2S and I8S. The company offers development boards and reference designs for all three BeBoB processors.
Pricing and Availability The DM1500E, DM1100E and DM1200E processors are currently available in production quantities, and are sold with complete SDK and application firmware stack. The combination FireWire/USB SDK will be available in March, 2008.
