Today, Ibanez basses are almost always associated with sleek, fast and sexy modern shapes and active tones. The new Jet King pays tribute to an earlier time in Ibanez history, the early- to mid-60's, when really funky (and sometimes admittedly clunky) designs were the name of the game. "The Jet King has that cool pawnshop vibe that comes from that era," said Ibanez Bass Specialist Pete Chiovarou, "but it also has modern Ibanez consistency, intonation and stability, and the Jet King puts out the kinds of tones that are especially good for today's roots rock players."
