Metal Body Electric Guitar Maker Brings The Hard Edge Out At NAMM
January 19, 2008
The Liquid Metal Guitar Company ( LMG ) unveils its latest model of metal bodied guitars. The Hard Edge, comes sonically raging with Lindy Fralin's P92 specifically wound pickups. Additionally, LMG is offering more choices in finishes, now a metal bodied guitar is available in chrome, 18k gold, anodizing and a proprietary candy color surfacing.
"We keep learning more and more about the spectacular capabilities of metal for our guitars. How to coax out amazing sound, how to create stunning finishes. We are after great guitars" says Phil Cook of The Liquid Metal Guitar Company. " with the introduction Hard Edge we have another offering that is just that. Like our others distinct in look, sound and entirely unique."
The Hard Edge is machined out of single block of 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum and fitted with guitar specific matched pick ups sets.
We looked around for another exceptional guitar sonic sensation and found LINDY's P 92s. They are humbuckers in size and shape and they are quiet no hum but the sound is pure single coil. These pickups in our metal body, with the complex brightness of the metal, spawns at damn fine "roided up" single coil sound.
The finishing options now available, again, all taking advantage of the unique shimmering esthetic qualities metal are, of course, our signature, chrome, like the back bumper of a '57 caddy and now gold, 18 K gold, like Blackbeard's chest of treasure, that rivals chrome for the king of shimmering rights and shiny anodizings, in red, green, black, blue, burnt orange that almost glow and halting liquid looking candy apple paints that are applied over a highly polished metal proprietary etched surface and then baked on, just like a motorcycle tank would be.
LMG guitars are not another reinterpretation in wood or plastic. It is metal — machined, hard cool metal — with soothing curves and sinful cuts, whose luminescence sizzles and shimmers as only metal can. LMG guitars are a celebration of noise and cars and rock and roll.
The Liquid Metal Guitar Company is based in Vancouver, B.C.
