Radian Audio Launches New Apex Series Monitors at the NAMM Show

January 17, 2008

At the NAMM Show, Radian Audio Engineering is introducing its new Apex Series of compact stage monitors with the launch of the Apex 1200 and the Apex 1500, two ultra-compact, low profile, two-way floor monitors for live performance and installed sound applications. The Apex 1200 features Radian's top of the line, American-made 12-inch coaxial speaker with a 2-inch compression driver, and the Apex 1500 houses a 15-inch version, in an enclosure engineered to be almost half the size of conventional stage monitors without sacrificing performance.

Radian Audio Engineering is at booth #7010 (in the Arena concourse) at the NAMM Show, which is being held January 17 — 20 at California's Anaheim Convention Center.

By utilizing coaxial drivers Radian Audio has been able to engineer the two new Apex wedges with front baffles that are 40 percent smaller than most conventional floor monitors. The uniquely designed, ultra low profile cabinets minimize audience sightline interference while the compact form factor drastically reduces the onstage footprint. Constructed from 13-ply 3/4-inch Baltic birch with a sturdy steel front grille, both enclosures incorporates a built-in carrying handle plus a hidden cable management system that prevents accidental damage to the twin NL-4 connectors.

The Apex 1200 and Apex 1500 are both rated at 500 watts RMS and are outfitted as standard for passive or bi-amp operation. Apex monitors are available in scratch-resistant, waterproof Duradian finish or in a permanent installation version for contractors in black or white. Manufactured entirely in the USA, the Apex floor monitors have a five-year warranty.

"We are thrilled to be launching a brand new line of stage monitors at the NAMM Show," said Dave Sitz, National Sales Manager, Radian Audio Engineering. "These new products represent the pinnacle of engineering, hence the name — Apex. These first models, the Apex 1200 and 1500, incorporates exactly the same components as the MicroWedge — which we no longer manufacture — and in this new enclosure design they not only outperform that model but also most conventional floor monitors twice their size."
