Tycoon Percussion announces the addition of all-star timbalero Ralph Irizarry to its growing roster of top international drum artists as well as the introduction of the new Ralph Irizarry Signature Model Timbales.
Tycoon's Ralph Irizarry timbales offer the contemporary yet traditional sound and power of high-quality, stainless steel shells with heavy-gauge, die-cast, chrome-plated counterhoops. The 14" and 15" drums also feature a durable gloss black finish that provides a distinctive look without affecting the shell's bright, cutting cascara sound. The drums are the result of Tycoon's painstaking efforts to meet the incredibly high standards for quality and sound that an artist of Irizarry's stature demands. A heavy-duty, two-tone, angle and height adjustable stand, cowbell bracket, tuning wrench and pair of sticks are included with each pair of timbales.
A self-taught musician whose passion for drumming began during his early childhood in New York's Spanish Harlem, Ralph Irizarry has been hailed as one of the brightest young stars in Latin music. Throughout his prolific career Ralph has performed and recorded with many of the most renowned and respected musicians in the world, including Ray Barretto, Ruben Blades, Harry Belafonte, Celia Cruz, Paquito D'Rivera, Wynton Marsalis and Paul Simon.
