After an extremely successful launch in 2007, which saw the release of Acoustic Legends HD, VI.ONE, and syntAX, Vir2 Instruments is poised to release a number of new and breakthrough virtual instruments in 2008. At the 2008 NAMM Show, Mojo: Horn Section was shown in prerelease form. Twelve instruments make up the Mojo library, including trumpet, trombone, four saxophones, clarinet, bass trombone, piccolo trumpet, and more. The advanced scripting allows for automatic ensemble creation — just turn the knob to reflect how many players should be playing at any given time. Through scripting, Mojo can also create true legato, custom vibrato, and more. Mojo is expected to ship at the end of Q1 2008.
Vir2 Instruments also gave a preview of Elite Orchestral Percussion and BASiS. Elite Orchestral Percussion is a premium 19GB library, filled with an unparalleled variety of both traditional and unusual orchestral percussion. Advanced scripting allows for true realism, pattern generation, custom articulations, and more. Elite Orchestral Percussion will ship in January 2008.
BASiS features a comprehensively-sampled collection of electric, upright, fretless, and synth basses, sampled from both DI and amp perspectives, numerous articulations, detailed release layers, and custom vibrato and legato modes that allow for a new dimension in realistic bass tone. BASiS will ship in February 2008. For more information, visit their web site at www.vir2.com.
