Waves announce three availability options for its Guitar Tool Rack Version 3 (GTR3), the latest step forward in the GTR series. GTR, the innovative guitar interface and amplifier-modeling package from Waves, brought superb quality amp modeling to the digital audio workstation, and GTR3's expanded availability offers guitarists several product options. Players can now buy the GTR3 software and Studio Guitar Interface separately or together, at special new prices. The GTR3 Complete package includes the GTR3 Waves/PRS Studio Guitar Interface with either Native or TDM GTR3 software; the GTR3 Software Only Edition package includes either the Native or TDM software; the third package includes only the Waves/PRS Studio Guitar Interface.

Waves GTR3 adds nine new guitar amps and seven new bass amps, including six new and improved high-gain models. The system is now capable of standalone or DAW-ready operation for the maximum flexibility — anywhere you need the very best in guitar and bass amp modeling. The GTR3 features a special hardware guitar interface developed in conjunction with Paul Reed Smith that provides the correct impedance and level matching, maintaining the sound, volume and dynamic range delivered by a true guitar input. This results in minimum signal loss, maximum model realism and true touch playability.

The GTR3 now includes 26 modeled classic and contemporary amplifiers that turn the computer into a stack of world-class amplification. In addition to a Direct Input option for full, transparent tone, there's a vast selection of new sounds modeled on famous amplifiers. The "Warm" setting for example is an amazing jazz and ballad tone based on a boutique amp from Paul Reed Smith's private collection. The "Punchy" setting, based on a 100W Marshall® head, for a clean rhythm tone, and "Scream," based on another boutique amp from the PRS collection, for killer, overdriven bluesy tones. "Activator" is based on a Sadowsky® preamp for super-responsive, clean performance, while "SolidState" was inspired by a Hartke® 3500, hand-picked for its sturdy, solid sound. And there are many more.

With GTR3 there's also a choice of 22 cabinets, and there is a vast array of choices as to what to do with them. Play through two cabinets. Record with two different microphones. Flip the phase. With GTR3 you can mix and match amps, cabs, and mics with drag-and-drop simplicity. There's 4 x 12" Standard, based on Marshall® 1960a; 4 x 12" Britt, inspired by the Orange® PPC412 Celestion Vintage30. There's a 1968 Gibson® Skylark. A '65 Fender® Vibrolux Reverb Blackface. A Pro bass 8 x 10" inspired by the Ampeg® SVT810AV. Every amp and cabinet is modeled to the most astonishing level of accuracy and faithfulness, thanks to Waves' powerful DSP technology.

GTR also delivers 26 smoking Stomp effects too. From Delay, Distortion, and Doubler to Phaser, Flanger, Fuzz, Compression, EQ and more, GTR has everything today's guitarist needs. And with features like sync-to-host BPM, drag-and-drop, and real-time MIDI control, it's easy to dial in an incredible sound. GTR3 includes three onboard tuner variations — standard, chromatic, and alternate, that provide the user total instrument tuning accuracy. Effects are plugged into a virtual pedalboard that can hold up to six Stomps, and the signal path can be rearranged by simply dragging the effects into the right order. The Stomps and pedalboard can be fully automated via either DAW automation or MIDI.

"We wanted to give guitarists the ability to purchase only the GTR3 tools that they need, so we developed three separate options, "said Waves CEO Gilad Keren. "We believe that GTR3 is the ultimate virtual guitar amp and effects system in the world, which is why it has been acclaimed by guitarists and journalists worldwide. Any way you want to purchase it, GTR3 is a powerful, unique system with some of the most sought-after guitar and amp sounds around."
