ZP Engineering will demonstrate at NAMM its OEM modules that enable developers to integrate IEEE-1394 digital audio connectivity into their designs; the newly released Evaluation Board will also be shown.

The DAI1 module is a high-performance board that easily integrates into custom designs, offering digital audio streaming capabilities over IEEE-1394 (aka FireWire) for Windows XP, Vista and Mac OS X; it is based on the DM1500 processor from industry-leader BridgeCo and is shipped with pre-configured firmware. Other configurations can be obtained with firmware customizations. On Windows, ASIO and WDM drivers are available, while on Mac OS X the driver is native and included in the operating system. A pass-through MIDI port is also available and visible on host as a virtual MIDI port.

Its compact form-factor (6x8 cm) allows integration in constrained spaces. Other modules are being designed and will augment the offering for digital audio connectivity from ZP Engineering.
