PRESS RELEASE
ZP Engineering Demonstrates OEM IEEE-1394 Connectivity Modules at NAMM
January 18, 2008
Advertisement ZP Engineering (Rome, Italy) will demonstrate at NAMM its OEM modules that enable developers to integrate IEEE-1394 digital audio connectivity into their designs; the newly released Evaluation Board will also be shown. The DAI1 module is a high-performance board that easily integrates into custom designs, offering digital audio streaming capabilities over IEEE-1394 (aka FireWire) for Windows XP, Vista and Mac OS X; it is based on the DM1500 processor from industry-leader BridgeCo and is shipped with pre-configured firmware. Other configurations can be obtained with firmware customizations. On Windows, ASIO and WDM drivers are available, while on Mac OS X the driver is native and included in the operating system. A pass-through MIDI port is also available and visible on host as a virtual MIDI port. Its compact form-factor (6x8 cm) allows integration in constrained spaces. Other modules are being designed and will augment the offering for digital audio connectivity from ZP Engineering. To ease the evaluation of its OEM modules, an Evaluation Board has been recently released offering a stereo analog input and output section, MIDI connections and an expansion connector for quick prototyping. Modules and Evaluation Board are available now and will be shown at the Winter NAMM show at BridgeCo booth 1801, Hall E. Main specifications:
