Peavey Debuts Revolutionary New Power-Amp Technology In Ultra-Lightweight & Efficient IPR™ Series
January 17, 2009
Advertisement Peavey Electronics introduces the new IPR™ Series of ultra-lightweight and efficient power amplifiers. Boasting a net weight under 7 lbs. on its lightest model, the groundbreaking Peavey IPR Series utilizes an advanced design that allows Peavey engineers to dramatically reduce weight while increasing output power, reliability and thermal efficiency. IPR Series amplifiers are designed with a resonant switch-mode power supply and a high-speed class D topology that yields the highest audio resolution and efficiency available. Peavey IPR Series amplifiers feature two channels with independent, 100 Hz crossovers and a variable-speed fan housed in a lightweight aluminum chassis. Peavey's exclusive DDT™ speaker protection with multi-point clip sampling leads a protection-circuitry suite that also includes DC, Temp, Signal and Active safeguards, all referenced on the front panel with LED indicators. In addition to the standard IPR 1600, IPR 3000, IPR 4400 and IPR 6000 models, Peavey has announced four models that feature built-in 32-bit, floating-point digital signal processing. The IPR DSP models ship with program-specific EQ presets that make common sound-reinforcement EQ treatments easy to perform, as well as delays, crossover and stereo/mono operation with lockable security settings. A front-panel LCD screen allows users to quickly identify and assign presets. The Peavey IPR Series power amplifiers will be available from authorized Peavey retailers in Q3 2009.
